Hi,

I recently acquired a roll of this product.
https://www.aldi.co.uk/multi-layer-foil-insulation-quilt/p/702015334267300
or it could have been this
https://www.aldi.co.uk/10m-foil-insulation-quilt/p/010791259759300

I was wondering is that material food safe?
I have a keg mashtun that is insulated with the above product.

However, I covered a lid on that material aswell and grains will be steeped in the vessel with the insulated lid on.The materials are Metalised polypropylene, Metalised Polyester and LDPE

Please see attached photos of the vessel and particularly, the lid.

As this insulation should not be in contact with any liquid then: Yes it is food safe!!

Just don't eat it or cook with it!

Cheers

Will

Cheers for the reply Will_D. Though since the lid and material is facing the inside and steam will be in contact with it, do you think it is still safe?

I just have a standard lid on my mash tun and lay the insulation sheet over the top of it. I don't see any need to put the insulation on the inside?
