Speaking for myself here I need and I don't even know if there is going to be any dry hopping at this stage.

300g EKG - Capital Brewers Barrel
200g EKG - South Dublin Brewers Barrel

I'm thinking if we order a 5kg bale of EKG leaf hops between Capital brewers and SD brewers we would have enough for both barrels. It costs ~€70 for 5kg delivered.

There was somebody talking about getting a bale of another type of hop but I cant remember who said that to me so if you think there is demand then add it in. Dr. Jacoby pointed out that the delivery is the same for up to 3 bales but I don't know if people want that much at this stage...

Bale 1 - 5kg East Kent Goldings (~ €14/kg including delivery)
1. Shiny - 1kg

That was me! I'm typing this on a phone so I won't put in my full order till I get home this evening, but I'm looking to get 3Kg of EKG (pellets would work best but leaf is ok if that is easier) and 3.5Kg of Saaz (pellets if possible). That's not all for me by the way! Kev and Richie are on board too. Ill just use my name to keep things simple.
Every little helps

Bale 1 - 5kg East Kent Goldings (~ €14/kg including delivery)
1. Shiny - 1kg
2. Dr Jacoby - 3Kg (pellets preferred)

Bale 2 - 5Kg Saaz (roughly ~€12.50/Kg not including delivery - most of this is covered by Bale 1)
1. Dr Jacoby - 3.5Kg (pellets preferred)

Lads, maybe we should open this up to other clubs to make sure we get all the hops we need for the best price possible? I'm sure EKG will be a popular choice for imperial stout recipes. There might be demand for another 5Kg bale to bring us up to 3 bales overall, which is the sweet spot for delivery costs. Hopefully there will be enough people to take the final 1.5Kg of Saaz. What do you reckon?

I also am in need of hops . A kg of ekg would be good. There must be more out there in need ....

Jesus if everyone wants pellets then I'm going to have to make the extra effort to make that hop strainer I have been threatening to make for ages.  ;)

I don't have anything against pellets but they will block my boiler instantly. If you can show me a way for them not to block my boiler then I will go for pellets too.
Muslin bag??
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Utilisation? I thought if your hops, whether they be pellet or leaf, were stuffed into a muslin bag then your utilisation would be greatly reduced?

It all depends on the way the muslin bag is used and the amount of hops in it. If you can stretch the bag to give the hops space to move around that would help (one way to do this would be to use a giant tea ball around which you wrap the muslin bag. Another option is to use a large muslin or nylon bag suspended from a frame that keeps the bag stretched open). And if you make sure to limit the amount of hops in each bag you are less likely to get big lumps where the core remains dry. In my experience 30g is an ideal amount but you can get away with more.

I had originally only planned on getting 1 bale, I didn't anticipate the other 2 so I would have already put the order though by now.

I know at least one other person that wants hops from the 3rd bale and I posted on the SD forum so see if Declan wanted some. If the 3rd bale fills up I can order them straight away. I'm not going to go beyond 3 bales as the delivery doubles after that.
