That's mad. Surprised the yeast can work and survive at internal body temperatures.

Yeast will work at blood temperature. There are a few yeasts that cohabit with warm blooded animals.

You can often hear farmers stories about livestock that wandered into orchards and grazed on windfall. In some cases they get punch drunk, and its all a bit funny, but a story I heard required the Vet to perforate the stomach to release the gas building up in the stomachs.

Still, it doesn't sound like a fun illness.

I had an active ferment going on in my stomach once. Homebrew after a course of antibiotics did it,  I didn't get off the loo for 5 days.
