Will be in Cork mid Feb all things going well. First on the list of new places to visit is Risings Sons... are there any other new/must see places? How about Elbow Lane?

There is also The Cottonball brewery, up in Mayfield a short bus journey from the city. 9 White Deer is another in west Cork and they have some nice beers - there was a group from Lee Valley brewing club who went there a few months ago.

I was in Elbow Lane a few weeks ago for food - not sure if you can go in and drink without eating but they do tasting trays. Porterhouse is closed Sundays nowadays - Bierhaus has a good selection and the Fran Well is always worth a visit when in Cork. Cottenball is out in Mayfield but you can get their stout in the Friary, Shandon Street or their Pale Ale (along with the Rising Sons core range  ;) ) in Crane Lane.
Give a man a beer, waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and waste a lifetime!

The Abbot Ale House is another place worth mentioning they have an off licence at street level and a pub upstairs with a good selection of unusual beers on tap and bottle. The Hub is another craft beer pub. If you are near bus station in Cork you could also try The Poor Relation.

9 White Deer is in village Ballyvourney and the brewerys beers are on sale in a sister business called the Mill at the other end of the village. I was there on the 30th of December. They have two types the white deer on tap (red ale & IPA) as well as the same red ale on cask. They also had Friar Weiss & Rebel red from the Franwell & Mountain man IPA.
