Is this list for those interesting in co-locating with TOG, or for something else?

You mean its not the list for the free toaster?

€1400 a month is nuts tbh. You're going to need 60+ people to keep costs reasonable

I was offered a place where Motley brew is located, bigger than his shop for €800 a month.

I'd be interested but not at that price.

The whole point of the thread is about a co-location with TOG. They already are paying €1400 a month with approximately 40+ members and they have been doing this sustainably for 5 years so I wouldn't worry about that aspect. What is being proposed there is that we join up with them as we do not have the means of paying €1400, €800 or anything like it ourselves at the moment. The idea is that we would bring something like 200-300/month and get a certain square footage of their space.

25-45 quid a month to be a keyholder for a city centre space like this seems like good value to me.

I could store some of my gear, drop in weekdays after work to do a starter or some bottling, brew there and leave my FVs there, look to work on projects for temp control etc with the other members and eventually look to get a larger kit together for bigger co-brewed batches. Space permitting we could hold the monthly meets there. Stick in a few tables and chairs, some kegs and taps and youve got a social club for Capital too. Its a no brainer with loads of potential to develop.

Well if that's the price than it sounds reasonable. I'm in D3. Could donate a 60L mash tun that needs a bit of tlc in the seals and a 33L stock pot..

That in a nutshell is why an idea like this is great. You give a space for members to coordinate and meet. The rest will just evolve dynamically. Though I think it should be a more inclusive NHC thing rather than just capital. We have a big brew community in Dublin, so the more the merrier in my mind. Think of even just having a space where all the group buys can be delivered and distributed. You could even bulk buy grain as a club and have members buy from the club on brew days; basically operating as a co-op for the group.
The possibilities are endless when you have a centralised space...

Sign me up too, if within 20mins of O'Connell St it's doable for me on the bike.

Initial comments are positive from some of the TOG members so I will have a good deal of support at the AGM on Saturday. Thing's I'm going to mention are:

- Tiered pricing
- Space available (for equipment, parking depends on the final space chosen)
- Water/Electricity charges
- Fund for new/specialist equipment (ie a portion of the monthly fee should go towards this)
- What type of facilities are we aiming to have (Yeast bank & slanting kit, Temperature controlled chambers, microscopes, grain/hop storage etc...)

Is there anything else that people want me to ask for clarification at the AGM?

Its probably way way down the road but should we get our area in there HACCP certified?

I remember the first ever brewday we had there!

Great work Shiny on setting the ball rolling on a more formal relationship between the capital brewers and Tog!!

Best of luck this afternoon!
