Friends were making a brew yesterday, not sure what happened but they ended up mashing in at 90, not sure for how long.

It got down 66 naturally so who knows. Went ahead with the rest hit numbers of 1060.

Bout 24 hours now and no sign of activity, can see the yeast sitting at the bottom.

Liquid yeast used, no starter. Will it even ferment due to that mash in?

Qs

What size was the batch? Whats the yeast?

winstonia

Bout 17L in total, susposed to be 5 gallon.

WLP007

Just pale malt used.

I'm afraid they're screwed. Alpha amylase denatures at 80C so you're looking at no conversion there
Give a man a beer, waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and waste a lifetime!

Can I wash the yeast?
