Was thinking the longer length of the tubing might be easier, either way post how you solve it?

Fal

I didn't yet, I couldn't get a 90 degree that fitted in time. But I'll have a look again before the next brew.

Err? Why not just move the system nearer the edge of the worktop so that the pump hangs down in free space (like most of the pics I have seen)

Just a suggestion like

Because Brian from HBW recommended in a previous post not leaving it hanging.

Try hanging it over the edge of the counter, just make sure it doesn't leak. The one we originally demo'd was an earlier version and we haven't heard of this problem since.

We  are out of Bulldog Brewers again, but they are due back in about 3 weeks. I think the new store in Dublin is doing some kind of special if you can come up a small deposit. More importantly, they are keeping one permanently in store for demos and to offer a full after sales service.

Big news on the malt front
Try something new? We have Colorado malts (a selection produced by Viking under license from the Colorado Malting Company - the pioneer of craft malts in the USA). We have all the ones that Viking make.

Colorado Honey malt: . . . use up to 30%, very very interesting.

Colorado pale malt and Colorado crystal malt: if you want to create some authentic US beers, try them out. Pale and crystal are limited until we see if there is interest. We are committed to keeping the price really good though.

Also Vilking Pils is back in stock, this is a great pils malt with amazing efficiency. So we also got Vilking Pale Ale malt. And dozens of others, we will put them all on the site soon.

See here for the ones we already have up:

Gluten free liquid malt extracts (LME) now in stock:
http://www.homebrewwest.ie/gluten-free-beer-kits-459-c.asp

Afaik the malt contains less than 20 ppm gluten, so a typical extract beer would contain less than 3 ppm gluten. Tastes and looks identical to normal LME and we are keeping it at the same price as a promo for a while.

Of course, if you go adding steeping grains, then the gluten returns. So the challenge will be to come up with some interesting recipes using only gluten free liquid malt extract, hops and yeast.

We'd like to sponsor a gluten free beer competition if the NHC would run it and judge etc. What do you think? I guess we could supply enough LME for maybe 20 entries? More if required?
