Great to meet ye all lads, some nice beers tried tonight!

tipp brewer

Nice to meet you all. Good night and good beers.

Chris

Great to meet you guys hopefully we can make it a more regular thing. A few nice beers but the standout for me was Tipp Brewers Rye IPA. It was good to be able to solve the mystery of the unusual taste from Keg and Bavarian Girls Red Ale, that's what these kind of meets are all about. Keg I have a box of bottles for you. I'll be swimming Monday morning and I'll throw them in the boot.

It really was great! I hope we keep it up!
TippBrewer's Rye Ale was delicious, but also Chris's creamy red ale and "whatever-was-left-in-the-freezer-brew"
Very tasty!!

What did ye say we had in there instead of the roasted barley, which gave it that burnt flavour? (I still think it tastes metallic ;))

John I'm delighted to break the gender imbalance ;)

Thanks for the bottles Chris!!
Maybe we can do sth like this soon: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmSX8eX34Hs ;)

Hi bav girl, that flavour we thought comes from black patent malt it is a little stronger than roasted barley, it will mellow a bit. It ll still impart that Smokey flavour associated with Irish red ales, your beer was spot on style wise, Irish reds do benefit from a little crystal i.m.h.o.or even to unstyle them a bit a lot of people seem to brew hoppy red ales.
black patent malt is often used in stouts and they benefit from being aged for about 6 months so your beer will stay improving if you can wait that long. Personally, i thought it was quite good and would be happy to drink away, maybe put. A bottle or two away and see how different it. Gets.

BavarianGal

Thanks Tippbrewer! :) That's good to know! We won't give up on it then ;)
We are having a little production line going here at the moment! So we should meet up soon again! :D We are nearly running out of space storing the beers  :o
