So as you can see this month it's all Mikkeller beers, I don't think thats the case every month.

I do enjoy a good Mikkeller beer but the price is steep for 8 bottles

for a similar price with the Brewdog subscription you can get 18 bottles per month and you get some great ones in it

Yeah it is expensive. I have a freshly baked new son, so won't be gong out boozing too often - which means I don't mind paying a bit more per bottle. That said the referral code does make things more affordable.

Interesting selection this month. Have only had that beer geek one before. Did you enjoy last months selection?

I really enjoyed it. The porters and stout were really great. The IPAs were mixed - mostly lovely but thought the Cascade Washington was only grand. I wasn't a fan of the American Dream, but seven good beers out of eight ain't bad.

Description: The spontan series sounds amazing. Here's the blurb; "Spontan is 100% spontaneously fermented beer aged in oak barrels for 1 to 3 years. It is made with wort produced by lambic producers, not with wort and microbiological cocktails.
Brettanomyces is then added for refermentation in the bottle (to make sure we have alive yeast after 3 years)."
This one is made with Lychee fruit.

How are you enjoying them this month? I have only had three so far. Really enjoyed Riesling People, thought it was superb. I didn't enjoy Garden of Eden, thought it was very sickly. The Mosaic session was pretty solid. Looking forward to trying Rozpusta 2, the first version was the standout beer from the February box for me.

I've only had a few myself. I liked Rozpusta, I don't think it was as nice as the previous version, at least I didn't enjoy it as much but it was still solid.
Because I had enjoyed the Rozpustas so much I felt a little disappointed by the Riesling People. I thought the To ol IPA smelled amazing and tasted grand. The gooseberry Berlinner Weisse was beautiful. I have  some gooseberries myself in the freezer and was going to try them in an NE style IPA - interesting that the BW poured really hazy and then settled and cleared quite quickly.

Mikkeller Beer Mail - April 2018.

Here's April's selection.
The number of beers has gone from 8 to 9 which is nice but there aren't the usual 2 500ml cans so it's a mixed blessing to my mind. I guess the volume of beer is the same really and it's nice to get to try more varieties but a large can is more satisfying than a smaller bottle sometimes.
The packing box is  a little different this month too, but my highly scientific test of jamming cans into it shows me that it doesn't rule out them giving us cans in the future.

Mikkeller Beer Mail - May 2018.

Here's May's selection. No porters or stouts which I'll miss but I guess as we move into Summer this makes some kind of sense. I like the Mikkeller sours that I've had so far and this month features a few so that's hopefully good.

Value wise this looks like a pretty good month. It's the 9 drinks as promised, but that includes a 500ml can and no 9 is actually two drinks in a cocktail combo.

1. Official MBCC 2018 beer:
3.7% Berlinner Weisse.
Description: Ah, so the beer mail gets a 500ml can again, which is nice to see. This is the offical beer of the 'Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018. Presume they'll put a whack of effort into this so.

Description: 4.6% Pils. Supposedly this series is all named after obscure Danish sayings. Google found me this page [https://theculturetrip.com/europe/denmark/articles/13-danish-phrases-that-make-no-sense-in-english/] which translates it as "I'm broke". What's this got to do with 4.6% Pils? No idea

Description: Mikkeller call it a "folk pale ale". The ratings sites call it an Americal pale ale.

8. Mikkeller K:rlek 12.
Description: K:rlek seems to be an IPA series. This one is a "Hazy Pale Ale brewed with Mosaic hops for the sweet spring and summer of 2018!" Previous additions have been IPAs in the 4-5% range from what I can see.

9. Mikkeller / SAS Passionfruit / Cocktail Mix:
Oh, this is nice. Low abv Passionfruit Beer (from a couple of months ago) mixed with Mikkeller Spirits Ginger and Lime, which is a vodka mix that comes in at 10% abv. You get both separetly and the back of the booklet contains instructions on how to mix the cocktail.
