Decided then! I'm going to brew '3 grains' :P

2.00 kg Pils
2.00 kg Wheat
0.50 kg Rye
0.10 kg Crystal 33
0.50 kg Vienna

James WLP300 would be my yeast choice :)

Still not sure about hops :/

Will_D

I am not brewing.

But will help out with the cooking - is it going to a slow roast pork?

Photos naturally.

@Jacob - if you are use rye then why not lean towards a Roggen?

I might even have some smoked rye! Will check
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing

Just want to mix wheat with rye to see how far will it be from the roggen. If you have some smoke rye malt I would be interested in brewing smoked roggen next time.

Food:

There seems to be a leaning (or is crackling) towards some slow roast pork)

@nigel once we have an idea of numbers how much notice do you need to obtain a shoulder?

If its not pork and then its a large hunk of steak - same question!

If I go to a decent butcher in these parts then they need a good few days notice so if nigel can source the meat then we split the cost with him!

Assume if there's about 5 so far then on the day maybe about 10

@james: Is the family away for the day?

@all NCBrewers: @all newcommers to NCB: This will be a great day of brewing, drinking, and pigging out ( assuming no beef (horse))

@james: Many thanks for hosting this

@Demspey: You and Tube comming? (I believe from the illustrious leader it may be your turn to drive? ) If not Malahide is on the Dart, and its only 5 mins walk to James' (if you know the secret short cuts)

Beef is not a problem. Have some top stick in at the moment. Pork may be a problem.

How about a slow cooked for rib of beef on the bone? :p

Don't worry - I didn't pay that for mine !

Jacob

At what time are we planning to start on Sunday?
Also, James could you PM me your address please?

Other question. Are we going to put an info about Co-Op brew day on the main page?

nigel_c

The Family are planning to be away - they might be popping in and out - but they are generally out.

I have the place booked from about 9 am to 4pm

I think that should be fine

What time do you think we should start ??

Is 9 too early ? Maybe 9:30 / 10 am ?

I dont mind either way - I suppose people will be drifting in as the day goes on...
