Title: Barley malt extract
Post by: Shanna on March 17, 2013, 08:29:53 PM
Hi there

I was looking at dry malt extract on one of the home brew shops and I noticed Barley malt extract. Anybody know what it is used for and is it something that be used instead of spray malt dried exact?

It seems to be cheaper than the spray malt so something tells me it is not a like for like replacement but I don't know enough to be sure (Tube if your reading this spare me the plamás)

Im sure it the same thing!

Can you provide a link?

Spray dried malt extract is malted barley

IIRC. If its in liquid form, 1.5kg = 1kg of dried malt

Hey Declan

That link is to malted grain(amber)

Used in any grain bill requiring amber malt. :)
