planning on doing my 3rd brew and looking for some advice.

was thinking making it with the following

500mg dark spray malt

500mg Muttons beer enhancer

300mg of treacle.

should i leave the treacle out or increase or decrease the amount of malt and enhancer.

Stitch

Muttons is that DME dressed as Lamb geddit?

Ok I'm not funny, why don't you do a split if you had a couple of 15 or 20 Litre buckets ideally, personally although I love treacle toffee, too much going on there with the treacle for me.
Let us know how it turns our what ever you decide.

Coopers are probably wondering about the recent 1000% increase in demand for the Irish Stout Kit  ;D

Blueshed

checked on my brew and it looks like a bomb went off inside.
took a reading and got 1010.

LordEoin

i would have expected it to be more around 1.020 a this stage (depending on temp)
Did you spin the hydrometer? or degas the sample?

Blueshed

ye always give it a spin when taking a reading.

did another one and its around the 1008 mark and temp is 18*.

Blueshed

Bottled the stout tonight, FG was 1006.

most of the brew went into brown 500ml btls with 1.5 drops.
had a 750 and 1lt glass btls and they got 2 drops, also had a 1lt plastic btl so put 3 drops into it.

next up the coopers dark ale.
