January 14th:

1. Upcomming Comps.
No one is entering the Lucan County.
Will will act as drop off point for the Nationals. If ready bring to next meeting (Feb 11th) or arrange with Will to drop round to him

The cask RIS will be selected at the next meeting. Please have 3 bottles (500mL but already there is discussion on comp thread about 330 mL bottles) ready and bring 1 to the meeting (or all 3). We will open 1 of them and the winner goes forward to Cork.

2. Hop Group Buys.
We agreed that in order to buy bulk hops we do so as a local group. This reduces the complexity of the order and makes it more likely to happen. The preference is for pellets as repacking is so much easier. The smaller size of the order does however mean that the number of varieties will be smaller than the big club buys.

People from out side the group can contact a member to order on their behalf. That way we can piggy back into other peoples GBs ;) However they must have someone to act as their piggy!

Colm R kindly offered to manage this via PMs and a google spread sheet. Please PM him your interests.

3. Malt GBs.
We will arrange for these as above. The great news from MCI is that they should be up and running by end of Feb and will even act as agents for speciality malts. They also state they can arrange delivery or we can still pick up!

So again we stand a much better chance of getting the grain we need quickly.

4. Other GBs
All depends on the size/complexity but we believe that the way the vials and silicon tubing orders were processed at the group level is the way forward.

5. The Cask project.
ColMack agreed to bring a sample to the next meet.

6. Recruitement/Publicity/Brew Day
It was agreed that come the better weather we would hold a Brew Day/Sampling day at the Boro

7.  Swap Shop.
As is, before the meet post up, arrange the swop, bring it along to the meet

8. Group Outing.
A great idea is to arrange a Saturday trip to BRÚ. Come the better weather we would be welcome to visit and enjoy a BBQ. Transport could be arranged in the form of a mini-Bus from/to the Boro. Someone said they had a contact (Nigel?)

9. Financing.
We agreed that we would all chip in €2 a head at the meeting. This will go into the NCB club pot.
The first buy would be a vacuum packer for the club. When we have a group buy of hops then we have the machine. Also members could borrow it for personnal use (for that I would suggest a nominal charge/deposit? Discuss at next meeting)
Excess funds at year end could go towards xmas party or whatever else we need.

Who will act as treasurer? (discuss at next meet)

Meeting ended at 8:30 ish then we got down to a serious number of beers
Remember: The Nationals are just round the corner - time to get brewing
