I recently broke my mates syphon. I now need to replace his one and buy my own.
So my question is, are they all the same or is there one you particularly like?

Pretty sure this is the one I broke https://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/auto-syphon-45lt-p-722.html

I think they're all the same. Got mine from Mottly Brew and it looks like that.

Some of them are bigger and can transfer more liquid quicker.

That one there Danny is for a 4.5lt demijohn, not suitable for a carboy or large bucket fermenter. ;D

Go for the bigger one, much quicker transfer.

I got a smaller one by mistake the first time and it was a Pita as it doesn't reach the bottom in a carboy as well as being slower.
Fermenting: IPA, Lambic, Mead
Conditioning: Lambic, Cider, RIS, Ole Ale, Saison
On Tap: IPA, Helles, Best Bitter

I am debating getting this one myself as even though it is way more than i need for a carboy it has the added advantage that i can see a use for transferring cooled wort from a kettle to an FV quickly etc. ;D

They seem dear enough and thats even when they're in stock, is there anywhere else with a better price on them?

Give them a call first as i am not 100% sure that is the correct size one for syphoning from a carboy/bucket FV,the description is very vague.I would be interested to know myself tbh. ;D

no bother

Don disposable gloves. Get tubing. Sanitize the shit out of it.
Immerse in liquid to be transferred so as to fill the tubing with liquid.
Close of end of time with thumb, move to empty vessel. Siphon starts.
