Title: Strawberry Kiwi Berliner Weisse? -Yep, it works!
Post by: biertourist on June 24, 2015, 04:09:07 AM
I'm as shocked as anyone, but my strawberry kiwi syrup added to my VERY tart Berliner weisse, really works!

If I were to do it again, I would DEFINITELY boil vs. no boil, though.  I just have way too much hay on the nose.  If you've ever been in a dry barn filled with hay or worked bailing hay you know exactly what smell I'm talking about; it's uncanny.

Berliner has slowly come around and I just pulled 1 gallon and threw 1 lb of freshly picked blackberries on it.

Ill let the blackberries ferment out fully and then I'll make a blackberry syrup from another 1/2 lb of blackberries that can be added at serving.

Berliner as a style just has so many fun things you can do with it.
