Title: Alternative fittings for corny posts
Post by: kev on June 25, 2015, 11:57:56 AM
Hi,

On the cornys there is the male threaded stub that the poppets etc screws on to

Does anybody know if its possible to just go on to that stub with non corny fittings? I'm wondering if I can find a plumbing piece to just attach directly instead of using the corny disconnects etc. From trying it with fittings it seems to be between 1/4" and 3/8".

Is there a solution?

I never saw one and tbh they are the easiest cleanest way of moving about and dispensing your beer and putting in c02 up to 4 bar.
I take it you are struggling with a disconnect or gas?

The states is your best bet. I think I've seen specially manufactured bits that will screw onto the threads. Can't recall offhand where at the moment.

This site has technical info

9/16 – 18 = Firestone/Spartanburg, or  19/32 – 18 = Cornelius looks like the job

Thanks for a great link. It should be "borrowed" and put into our wiki!

Haven't read it all, but good call on the toilet brush.
