I'm looking for a fridge to be converted to a keggerator and hold a corny. If anyone has one that might fit the bill, give me a shout.
Check your local recycling center they may have something to suit you. Or the donedeal and adverts.ie websites
Managed to find one on DoneDeal actually. Kegerator is now 90% complete! ;D

Are recycling centres allowed to pass on old equipment?
This is a tricky question.
I have seen on RTE that I think Rehab refurbish/test/pass on electical goods as well as furniture etc.
Some of the more "anally retentive" council centres will NOT allow you to take away electrical goods let alone 'owt else!
They would rather scrap fridges and freezers than allow other people to reuse them.
Its a fact that 50% of Fr/Frs in the dump are still working fine and have been dumped for cosmetic reasons!
I know privately run recycling centres week allow you take stuff away of you talk to them.
As a rule we don't let people take fridges from our recycling centres as it runs the risk of something happening and the council being sued, which people are very fond of doing. In saying that, we run workshops every so often with the local tech and they refurbish fridges but I think they sell them on for a few quid. If you know someone who works there it's a different story though. ;)
A simple signed legal disclaimer would surely do the trick?

Probably, but you'd still get people trying to sue and then going and complaining to their local councillor about it so it's easier just to refuse them.
See you managed to pick one up in the end , and one that`s almost converted at that :) .
But it`s always worth looking at local auctions , you never know what you may be able to pick up . charity shops are great for general storage . but again like Irish Goat said , they also tend not to re sell electrical items for health and safety reasons . most are just passed on to the local recycling centre .
My brother tinkers around with PC`s all the time , and he moans when he see`s heaps of laptops/desk tops laying out in the rain . there are a lot of older people round where he lives . so he used to keep them right for cheap repairs/upgrades or full PC`s . all they need really is something to check emails use skype and watch the odd youtube video anyway . but that`s all stopped now they have tightened up on that sorta thing . shame to because he did it pretty much for free since he was out of work anyway .and the OAP`s werent getting ripped off .he still does sort them out if they have any issues , only now it means trolling ebay for cheap parts .
This is the finished product in case anyone cares!

The tower is a 50 year old cast iron pipe that I had modified by a welder friend. I also sprayed it silver under and glossed over in black to give it an iron look.
Nice up-cycle! Brewdog will be looking for you to kit out their bars next!
Nice job, very unique
