Title: Reusing muslin bags
Post by: Kevin O'Roundwood on July 09, 2015, 01:04:02 PM
Yay or Nay?

I've washed/boiled/sterilised these bags but they never come out looking that clean after. Clean enough for brewing anyway. Are they really just for single use or do people reuse them successfully without destroying their beers?

Reuse them successfully since the day one.

After all it's all used at the boiling stage.

Not bothered washing them - just a thorough rinse while cleaning all the other equipment at the end of a brew day. And then air dried.

I just boil mine for a few minutes before reusing them.
I dryhop away fine repeatedly without any problems

I stick mine in the washing machine. Haven't noticed any problems with that but now suddenly I'm concerned about residual washing detergent. Might boil them as well before use in future.

Rinse and repeat
