If there's enough interest we can move it to Saturday the 9th.
I think we concluded at the last one that we'd do every second one on Saturdays, so April will be on a Saturday regardless.
Can make Thursday 7th in the evening, can't make Saturday afternoon.
Will have something tasty too. ;)
I should be free for either one.
be very certain about the Thur nite and 50/50 about the Saturday.
Is this a homebrew tasting session?
Good stuff. Where is it happening and at what time?
Ive got that in my calender! + 1 r 2 people.
I'm in Clondalkin and as I'm new to the area I have no idea of the best way to Lucan (even though its just down the road >:()
any ideas anyone?

Where abouts in Clondalkin are you delzep? We (myself & IsMise) either blag a lift or grab a taxi. No bus to the Lucan County unfortunately!
Wanna link up with us for transport to this one?
Edit: I'll pop you a PM now with my number.
Hi Delzep, what part of clondalkin are you in? i'm near the Green Isle, and meself and ColinC usually link up with a lift or a taxi, depending on availability, and share a taxi back. pm me your details and we'll link up on thursday 7th.
Is Mise,
Edit: Alright ColinC, wise minds etc, etc,etc.. ;)

SNAP!! ;D
Is this going ahead on the Saturday? Should have a DIPA and maybe more that I'd hoped to enter into the competition but didn't have ready in time :(
Maybe a good chance to share some rhizomes? I'd like to plant a couple this year. Dreaming of a wet hop pale ale in autumn already.
Thursday's probably better for me so should make it.
The calendar is still showing 9th by the way so it's a bit confusing.
Hop rhizomes?? Would like to get my hands on some of those... now what do I have to swap?? ::)
Methinks the ground should be prepared for these things within the next few weeks, am already transplanting artichokes and asparagus from an old allotment into my back garden... preparation etc.. ;)
Ten days to go folks, time for a list?
Sure why not. :)
1. Weiss - Dunkel hefeweizen. (~6%ish).

Could be handbags at dawn in the Lucan County carpark by the sounds of things... we might need a few judges/stewards/red shirts to keep a lid on it ;D
Looking forward to sampling the difference in similar brews, hope we have feedback sheets by then ::)

could be interesting...
what would folk think of this idea, on Thursday night we decide on a style of beer to brew for the MAY get together.
we could have 5 or 6 samples of a stout or ale done with a kit or kit hacking or all grain.
Bluehed -That sounds good to me!
Tube - looking forward to that!!
I think judging sheets would be a great idea so long as it doesn't slow things down too much. Should we bring our own if possible? Is there any guide as to how to fill them out you could maybe link us to?
if u send me a copy i can print as many as u like..
Will the scorecards for the competition be out before the tasting evening? Would be interesting to see how the people on the night score beers that were in the competition and compare them to the actual scores they received
Quote@delzep probably not... mammoth task, about 1,000 pages need to be scanned and emailed.
Quoteif u send me a copy i can print as many as u like..
Great!
From this page would you print maybe 100 of SCP_BeerScoreSheet_Checklist_Version.pdf and SCP_BeerScoreSheet.pdf, and then just maybe 5 of the rest, except the Cider one, you can leave that out.
Not too sure which page you mean, put I found two links on this page: http://www.bjcp.org/compcenter.php
I'll do prints of this:http://www.bjcp.org/docs/SCP_BeerScoreSheet.pdf
and this: http://www.bjcp.org/docs/Beer_checklist.pdf
If you give me direct links I can print some more..
Cheers.
I have bottles of beer from 3 premium kits that I brewed. I dont like them and am looking to shift them. I'll bring some tasters and if anyone likes them, they are welcome to take as many as they like. Could be to someone elses taste.
They are Muntons Gold Old English Bitter , Muntons Premium Gold Midas Touch Golden Ale and Brupaks Linwaite Light
Cheers..
if were going to taste and score some beers it might be a good idea to bring 2 btls of each beer.
im planning on making a cider next week and looking for a cider yeast if anybody had some to spare.
did somebody mention there giving away FREE btls of beer :P
I have some cider yeast I'll bring along.
And I only have 1 of each of the beers I'm bringing bottled :'(
I'll have two bottles of my IPA and bitter
Can fit two of the bottles in my prize winning cooler bag 8-)
Bringing a Random Red....just an experiment in too much Special B.....125g in a 20L batch....well I'm assuming that's where all the sweetness is coming from, maybe someone can set me straight :D
Anyone interested in some Line Cleaner? I Got a 5L drum for 60blips of this environmentally friendly stuff from a Cork company..It's good stuff.
Here's a link to a thread on boeir
http://www.boeir.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=7214&p=80675&hilit=line+cleaner&sid=f95dd7d8ee440a36263cfbcb56f95489#p80675
10euro for a Litre....It'll make a 1000L of Line cleaning fluid, should be enough for a lifetime :P
Put me down for a Litre please.
btw...that link doesn't seem to work (for me anyway)
sorry about that, it was reviewed on that other forum :D
http://www.boeir.org/community/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=7214&p=80676&hilit=safe#p80676
Nope, this link won't work either(I think there is some autodetection for that other forums links ;))....If you just do a search for safecare on it, you'll find it.
Not a good idea to be keeping caustic chemicals around the house with kids (that is if you don't have a shed)
This stuff worked great on some sticky beer encrusted stuff I had...
If anyone has some old line with beerstone in it, could they bring along a piece, I'd be interested in testing this stuff to the max.
I'll be up atfer work, folks.
See yiz at 7.45ish. :)
Great beers last night again.
My favourites were imark's double IPA, Delzep's IPA & Tube's Brambling Cross ale.
And whoever left a pair of glasses behind last night let me know. I have them & I'll get them back to you! (if you can read this....) ;D
Glasses,I think that be me. :)
Grand. PM me your number Dempsey & I'll sort out getting them back to you.
Very good night again lads, lots of banter and great beers brought by everyone, have to say my favourite 3 were imarks double IPA, ColinC's american pale ale and Tube's bramling cross ale ;D :).
Another excellent meet up. Great host as usual.
Was surprised by the vintage nut brown ale. Not a style I'd go for and wouldn't have considered the secret ingredient but it's stored away in the memory banks for another time.
Would we like to pick a couple of styles to concentrate on for the May meet up? Could make it interesting to focus on techniques and tips.
Thanks to Alex, Magnethead and Dempsey for respective goodies they brought along for me to collect.

Blueshed mentioned that to me last night as well - I think that's a great idea. Side-by-side tasting of the same style made with a kit, all-grain & extract.
Some great beers last night lads well done all. Pick of the bunch for me was the double IPA.
Feckin 6% west Kerry porter though (http://i.imgur.com/FUnLloc.gif)
oh and fair play to the Lucan County for hosting and providing very tasty food :)
sampled plenty of good home brews and a couple of very good btls brought along.
total of 13 lads there, Tube, Dempsey, IsMise, ColinC, Alex, Imark, Robrew, Weiss, McGrath, Magnethead, Delzep, Eugene and myself.
big thanks to mcgrath for the samples of his brews, had the blue cap and gold cap last night and enjoyed both.
got some good feed back on my stout but was wondering what was the verdict on my dark ale.
Great night, pity I had to leave earlyish.
Dempsey's monkey Butt Brown Ale was the stand out for me though I am quite picky to say the least. ;)
