Post by: sozbox on July 20, 2015, 01:49:46 PM
Has anyone used one of these to brew?

Never used one but I've done similar 5liter batches.
You can just BIAB in a large pot and muslin bag or paint strainer.
Mash in pot, remove bag of grain, sparge with kettle, boil as normal (not too vigorously or you'll evaporate half of it off)

Yep have done quite a few very easy to do and get the refill packs just means its a low cost way of making good beer to try and see if you like it without alot of equipment! !!

Bought one recently and put on my first brew yesterday, very happy with it so far. I am seeing some leakage from the tap during fermentation, is this normal due to the lack of airlock?

I had the same but put a rubber washer on the outside of the tap all good now

Good idea, will get one tomorrow. Is the brew still ok or am I at risk of infection?
