Title: MUL-BRU X
Post by: MUL-BRU on July 27, 2015, 02:17:30 PM
How do all,
been brewing kits for just under a year now and I am up to my 10th batch...hence the title of this post.
A lot was self thought and a lot from this forum, so to mark my 10th batch I said I'd sign up.....so here I am.
Using recycled bottles with no issues thus far. (Franziskaner labels are a nightmare)
Drink mainly Wheat Beers....also brew mainly wheat beers.
No heat belt / but I do have an insulated container (pics to follow).
My 1st brew was titled MUL-BRU.....then MUL-BRU II, MUL-BRU III, MUL-BRU IV...now up to MUL-BRU X.
For my 10th brew I wanted to up my game so I used the recipe from Lord Eoin for his Orange & Corriander Wheat Beer.
(Incidently, made it late Friday night and this morning there are still no bubbles although there is a "bulge" in the lid so fingers crosseed)

So thats me, looking forward to viewing and also contributing in the future.

Welcome! A bulge definitely suggests there's C02 being produced and thus activity. It could be that your lid isn't on perfectly tight and air is escaping through it rather than the airlock. If you're feeling brave you can open it up and see if there's a krausen formed. Whereabouts are you based?  :)

Cheers for that Irish Goat.  It was a late night brew so perhaps I did not check it throughly.  Rookie mistake. 1st time that there was no activity in the Airlock.
Without giving too much away on my 1st day.....Galway based.

I'd have a peek and see what the top of the brew looks like. Should be fine though if there's activity.

Be sure to check out the Galway Home Brewers Club (http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.ie/forum/index.php/board,19.0.html) forum for local meet ups etc too.

UPDATE:
Checked the airlock again this evening.  Did a bit of messing with it and when I loosened off the lid the sweet sound of bubbling began. Never happened before.  Phew. ...Blessed relief. Roll on approx 2 weeks.
