In Kilmore till sat. Heading to Simons place...does anyone know what the food is like? Would u be better eating elsewhere and then supping or do both there?

They only do grub during the day, anything I've had there was good.
'Twas after 8 when I'll be heading in, kids asleep etc.... Cheers tho
I recommend little yard tapas bar, book early though. New tapas bar down beside the sky and the ground (great for beers also) is meant to be nice. Cistin eile is always good but busy, as is la cote, a seafood restaurant. Those 3 are roughly around in the same place, little yard is up the main street. 5 minute walk.
The food in Simon's place is decent enough pub grub, I had a BBQ pulled pork bap and it hit the spot. The staff are all really sound and NHC member Cara is head brewer there, he should be happy to show you round the brewery if he's working.
I got Monkfish in batter and chips in one of the Kilmore chippers last year!
