Title: HANDY BOX
Post by: MUL-BRU on July 29, 2015, 06:42:35 PM
How do all,
just said I'd share this little Gem for all those Bottlers.
This crate holds 40x500ml bottles perfectly. 8 rows of 5.
Its a great way of keeping tabs on how many bottles you have.

The image attached is a full crate that I got busy with using a powerhose.
I find that giving them a good couple of blasts with the Powerhose does the trick for any dodgy growths in the bottom of bottles.

I use the deep version of the crate, with some wood attached to take the crate height above bottle height, to enable crate stacking.

What sort of crate is that? Where would an individual procure one?

Looks like those boxes you see on fishing boats? No idea where you'd just pick one up.

they are "obtained" from supermarkets and display fruit and veg, they usually have bars for stacking that pop up built into the side

I "obtained" one or two from a buddy, who got it from a bud kinda thing.
I have seen them used in the Green Grocer type of industry...general foodstuffs.
Id say if you checked with you local shop / grocer / supermarket they would more than likely have a few of them.
Well worth looking for one...or two......or three...
Looks like Ciderhead is of the same opinion.
