From these lads - biab.co.uk. They offer 3 sizes, 40l, 60l and 100l. What size do people use with their keggles?
Cheers lads and lassies
Buy a voile curtain in penny's for four quid and make one. I managed to get two out of one curtain.
Keggle is 50l and you would need some overhang so I'd say the 60l one,but best to contact the company
There is a member on here sells them as well, they are quality but you might have a wait

At the rate I'm progressing with this keggle build I can afford the wait! I didn't know he was still making them though. I'd prefer to buy one from a more local source so to speak, and buying the voile would entail me doing some sewing - I can just imagine the stitching bursting when I'm trying to get that last bit of wort out and destroying the gaff in wet grain! ;D

If you are referring to custombiab, they are no longer active :(
Back to the original question, I have one of the 40l bags from brewinabag.co.uk and it won't fit a keggle. It's designed for a burco. I'd say the 60l one would do but send him an email to be sure.
Pity as his product was top notch
Ah right Garry, I thought your kettle in the brew wiki was a keggle. On closer look it might not be alright...
I'll send them an email there and let ye know
I have a keggle, but the way I have it done, it's really not suitable for BIAB; The elements are too bulky and I have the top skirt cut-off except the handles, so there's nothing to wrap the bag around at the top. If you haven't attacked the keggle with an angle grinder yet, I'd recommend not cutting off the top skirt or else cut it off completely. Also keep the elements as low as you can.
I use my HLT (40l burco) for BIAB.
Ah right, thanks Garry. The skirt is cut down already leaving handles but I reckon it should be alright. The biab.co.uk people got back to me saying they've no idea which size would suit cos they've never used a keggle but to just measure it up myself and compare dimensions to the ones listed on their site.
Just measured it up there, I'd say the 60L is most suitable, it'll be a bit baggy but the 40L wouldn't fold over the top by my reckoning. Should be plenty material to get over the handle with the 60L bag too
A lot of American sites recommend a bag nearly twice the size of the pot. Having extra is a good thing. Last thing you want is the bag opening falling into the pot spilling grain etc.

Kevin, I got one from these guys in Canada. They are custom made and very good quality.

Nice one Enda, with the exchange rate being what it is it's six-of-one between the two price wise.
Brewbuilder are doing them now for 6.50 gbp https://www.brewbuilder.co.uk/biab-bag.html

Wowsers. Not bad...
Careful in your diameters on that one, mine arrived and is snug on my 60l thermopot mash tun no amazing build quality but tough enough to do the job with straps all around, I got it to feck around with tbh to see if it helps clean up on a herms and a stuck sparge I experienced a couple of weeks back
Another bit of cupboard kit I suppose :)

Does that mean it didnt help with the stuck sparge? haha
Yeah I wasn't sure if that one was going to fit the keggle so I ordered one of the mashedin.beer ones instead. The amount of money I've spent on 'little' things that have ended up been the wrong size... The mashedin lads are more expensive but custom make them to fit and they look really good - very fine mesh and sturdy. We can compare when it arrives and see if I've wasted more money! ;D
I'll post a pic of my setup later on this. Used once so far. Needs to get an extra hole for the return from my herms, but def made cleaning the tun easier, as it was just a case of rincing after the mash. That said, a bag is a messy bugger to lift when full, so next time I'll still bail out some of the grain before lifting out the bag, just to keep it all nice and clean.
Not likely to have that problem

whats the extra hole for?

Herms liquid return, so it's flowing over the top of the grainbed.
