Hi everyone,
New to the forum, have been homebrewing for around a year now. Started with a kit, then moved onto extract and steeping grains after the first one of those and have just brewed my first BIAB last weekend. Looking to move onto proper all grain at some point but happy enough with BIAB atm as I feel like I am able to achieve what I want to achieve now. Just starting to get into water profiling as well will be applying this to my future brews so no doubt will be seeking some advice from you guys!
I live in Belfast at the moment so Belfast brewers get in touch, would be great to hear from you. Also does anyone have any details on/is part of the homebrew club in Belfast? Would love to get involved.
Cheers!
Pete
Hey Pete,
Welcome aboard! Yep; plenty of brewers up here in Belfast. Check out the Belfast Brewers' sub-fourm:

Also, we're running an English Ales competition with judging in the Errigle (Ormeau Road) on November 28th:

Up until the start of the summer we were having regular meets in Wetherspoons (Dublin Road). Hoping to get these started again when everyone's back from holidays, etc.
What kind of stuff have you bee brewing? Bring samples to the next meet, if you like.
Cheers,
-Barry
Hi Barry,
Thanks for the reply! So far I've brewed a golden ale, a brown ale, a few IPA's, a saison (which was probably my best to date, going of reactions from others). The BIAB I have fermenting was a SMaSH maris otter/mosaic which I have high hopes for. Before that I brewed an IPA and totally overshot it on the bittering hops so that is the biggest disappointment I have brewed to date, but every brew has been a lesson.
Yeah I saw that comp today, really interested in entering and have ordered the ingredients to make an ESB, do you have details in how to actually register for it? Will be brewing that one in the next week or 2 to give it plenty of time to condition.
Thanks again!
Pete
Welcome Pete!
Hoping to have the registration up and running soon. Will update on the forum when ready.
