Hi all
Just to confirm the tasting event is still going ahead on Saturday from 12-5pm here in Kildare
'Saturday 10th October here @maltcracker Kildare we will be having a tasting session discussion group on BJCP tasting / styles brewing and so on.
Its a great opportunity to come down for extra support from proven and experienced Brewers and Judges and perhaps a skilled Somellier will be present to help out as well.
Kellie and Myself would like to invite 2015 students to come down and enjoy a day of tasting, discussion and learning.'
So please feel free to come along, I know 2 people are coming from Dublin via Dublin Coach from D'Olier Street and I will collect from the bus stop.
Let us know if you plan to attend and maybe think of any particular style you would like us to go through on the day, if you can bring a bottle to taste. We have a good mix of styles currently here that we have brewed to taste as well. :)

Feck.
Are you guys organising these things to coincide with my calendar?!
What do you mean? I haven't got access to your calendar lol
I'm doing a talk at a local fest on Sat.
Local as in Kildare or Cork? 😉
Cork, like. Proper local.
Brendan said hard luck! We will save you a nice bottle for when we next see you :)
I'll definitely be there. I wouldn't come by car though, a bus from Red Cow (or the city centre) would be a much better option :)
Great stuff, the Dublin coach leaves D'Olier street at quarter past the hour and quarter to the hour I think Ronan (Beerfly) is heading down as well as Christina. Or you can pick up the bus at the red cow direct to Kildare Village :)
Yeah I hope to make it, though I'll have to head straight after as I'm already double booked for the day. That double booking will need some negotiation still though ;) 11:15 bus from town is it?

Hi Kellie, I am keen. I can get the train from Galway and the train times suit. I only have 1 beer fermenting at the moment so I will have to bring a couple of commercial beers for goodwill. Personally I'm not very good with dry v sweet stout and body so maybe I'll bring a couple along those lines, but generally I plan on spending the day listening :)
If that's OK could you PM me the address or directions from the train station/town?

Delighted to see an interest in this day, I'd say the 11.15am bus from town will be perfect timing and we will collect you all from the bus stop here in Kildare.
@ Flanagan I have just PM'd you there
Just adding names to the list, so I know who is coming down :)

Btw guys, if anyone might have a good example of oxidised beer laying around for the day it would be really helpful. Still having a hard time nailing it down, have even tried soaking pieces of cardboard in water!! :o
I have about 8 bottles of oxidized stout. I live in Dunshaughlin but can bring them into Dublin city centre Friday as I'm in work

Ah don't go out of your way. If maybe by tomorrow nothing pops up I may buy a bottle or two and see if I can oxidise them for Sat. Cheers though!
It's no problem, they are gonna get thrown out anyway.
Don't worry Paul will get you familiar with oxidised beer ;)
And thanks Auralabuse that'll be a great help :)
I was trying to work a way of getting down to you, just not able. Was looking forward to it & to visiting the source of the Maltcracker.
Another time.
Will need to check with my social coordinator but should be okay. What time bus are the gang from Dublin getting?

Can't believe it's Oct already. An amazing offer Bren & Kellie, I'm definitely sorry I'm going to miss this.
The bus from Cork takes 5hrs (Yep, 5, and thats each way)
The Train is quicker, but costs EUR72.
So, I'm considering driving up.
Anyone else from Cork want in? A couple of quid towards Diesel?

+1! Great day, so much learning in just a few hours and so much still needed...
Thanks a lot for the amazing hospitality and the great opportunity!
(And of course to Christina for the cake too!)
Cake! Ah here nobody said anything about cake.
One of these days...
Pumpkin cake with frosted icing! It was gorgeous, then we went up town for Trouble's Pumpkin Brew :)
Where in town is the pumpkin brew available?
Hartes in the square, that's if I've not emptied the keg! ;)
Cheers - must pop in and sample the dregs ;-)
