[JK Edit]
This event is now scheduled for Tuesday 11 December 7pm
[/JK Edit!]
So lets pick Tuesday 11th December from 19:00 on in the snug of the "Old Boro"
1. Will_D ( Vintage Port ) ( See the location: Port is yer man )
Will
Can't make it :(
As you are the only one to reply so far can you pick another date?
Will
I'm open to any date.
What about 11th or 13th?
QuoteWhat about 11th or 13th?
11th (Tuesday) or 13th are both good for me. Lets see what James, nigel and cahal think
Re. Tubes great suggestion I don't know much about buses in Swords area - Any one who does?
I know its easy to get to from the airport ( so we cool for international attendees )
Will
I should be ok for what ever day is picked.
What about Emmet in balbriggan is he on here.
QuoteDon't think so, but there are other lads from around that area who are on here, some very experienced brewers too, like RichieH.
Have PM'd EmmetG and posted on a well known board beginning with "B"
Will
The one I used began with Beo*.ie !!
Seriusly though:
Great idea re the poster will certainly ask
Also a lot of pubs in England have signs up that say:
"The Royal and Ancient Order of Buffaloes meet here every 3rd. Tuesday of the month!" or something like.
( RAOB is a charity group like the Round Table or similar organisations. )
It just lets Joe Public know that there is a worthwhile meeting to attend
So some more nice signage artwork is required!!
Will
I'm good for Monday 17th or Tuesday 18th - remember the Beoir gig is on the 19th -
So I take it Monday 17th suits best.
QuoteHow about the 11th?
+1

QuoteAny chance lads of a public transport guide to getting to Swords? :D
dublinbus.ie :P
41, 41C from the city center, or get to the airport by aircoach or anything else and from there take 102 or 41
QuoteAny reason not to use the Swords Express either?
Never used them, but probably will work.
Would like to meet up but cant confirm yet.
QuoteWould like to meet up but cant confirm yet.
Hope you can tho'
Will
We feel trully humbled that you would find time in your busy schedule to attend our little gathering.
Re. Swords transport.
The 102 runs from Malahide (on the Dart line) to the airport via Swords (The Pavillions stops are nearest to The Boro)
There are buses into Dublin but I find the Dub-bus web site very confusing!
Done digging: Looks like the 41 from Lower Abbey street is the best bet:

Will
QuoteBut wouldn't the Swords Express be a lot quicker? It uses the port tunnel so there are no stops between the city centre and Swords.
Didn't think:
http://www.swordsexpress.com/timetable.asp
Looks pretty frequent and convienient from centre
The stop in swords is the Pavillions

anyone else ?
EmmetG form Ballbrigan may be able to attend
Will
Have reserved the snug for us.
Renier ( RatsatHome ) asked about how many bottles to bring.
We are only small so for tasting purpose one 500 ml bottle would probably do.
However bring a couple of spares and swap them??
What do we think?

Hope to make it too. I'll bring a red ale along.
If you get off the bus at the Pavillions, walk round the side of it towards the traffic lights and the Boro is across the road from you. See attatched jpg.
The door to the "right of middle" brings you into the snug
I have three beers for tonight in various states of ready
A Pale Ale - which is fine
A Weiss Beer - which is a little yeasty - but might be ok
A Christmas beer - which I havent checked but should be ok
We'll see what santa brings !
Thanks Tube and Dempsey and Brian for making the trip - it was a great meet up - lovely venue - craicing beer - definitely the best brewers on the north side -
I like the idea of a brewer exchange - basically everyone brings 4 bottles - we drink one and exchange the rest - so you end up with 3 bottles of random top notch bottles
Will's port probably stole the show - well done Will - Smashing port !
Cant wait for the next one !
Great night, loved the port too. :)
After a long night in a dark-room full of great beers from you all I developped and printed up a few snaps ( Don't we just love digitral cameras ).
