Title: Keg Setup
Post by: banjobrew on October 17, 2015, 10:15:03 PM
I bought a second hand keg from thenationalhomebrew.ie and now I need the rest. I'm thinking the basic setup from http://www.brewuk.co.uk/keg-starter-set-ball.html and maybe a brand new fridge with the intention of converting to a kegerator. I'm asking if anyone has any individual components that I could get second hand before I start spending £300+ buying new stuff?

Cheers!

Not sure about the kegging bits, I'm still in the googling stage of my build. But keep an eye on adverts.ie and donedeal for a cheap fridge. I got an under counter fridge a while back for 15 euro, twas a bit rusty on the outside and needed a good clean but works fine and was a hell of a lot cheaper than a new one

Keep watching group buys and for sale section on forum

Buy it even if you don't need it like the 5 poor fellas that missed out on regs GB
I wouldn't touch taps in Ali, they are chrome plated
A 5kg tank from AJ tell him Homebrew club sent you
Norman on eBay is also good but expensive atm because of stg

Looks like I might be able to get my hands on a fridge... Can I put a fridge on carpet?

I wouldn't put it on carpet for exactly the reason CH said, I've had so many little spills, leaks and bits of spray.

Coolers are normally 80-100
Kegs 35 now, disconnects 15
Taps 40-50
line a tenner?
You see where I'm going with this?

Fridge much better for serving for personal consumption.
