Title: O ring needed for elements
Post by: Mossy on October 25, 2015, 04:01:44 PM
Hi, I'm looking for two silicon O rings like this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FMYSEM/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=211189&creative=373489&creativeASIN=B000FMYSEM&link_code=as3&tag=theelectricbrewery-20

Needs to fit this element:
http://www.amazon.com/Camco-02963-Screw-In-Ripple-Element/dp/B000BPG4LI

Can't seem to find a place online that'll post to Ireland.

Fair price paid or obviously a few bottles of homebrew.

Cheers

No luck yet. I tried to cut one out of a silicone baking sheet but couldn't get if leak proof. I've not been able to get to that hardware store on manor street, none of the hardware shops around my area had any.

https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/gasketelement.htm got one with my element cover from brew hardware. I need a new one now as well. I think I found some on aliexpress, 200pc for 12US.

Need to confirm dimensions. With seller first, we could split the lot if you are not in a rush

What sort of diameter are you trying to seal onto?

Small diameters are hard for gaskets

Larger (keggle) diameters are easier.

You can always try to flatten the edge of the hole. N.b. Need a bigger hammer

get a kettle in argos or tesco and use  the seal off that.
If it doesnt fit your element  - use the element from the kettle - altho you prob already have your hole drilled.

Edit: ah i only followed the link in the post after i posted - argos element (or o rings) are prob not going to suit your application :)
