Ok guys just wondering if we are having a meet this month at all and if so what date? :'(
Yep, we should be. Seeing as it's Paddy's weekend - how are people fixed? This is the third Saturday of the month too! :)
Well Saturday is 16th so it should be ok right? I am determined to make it down to this one. Would like to see where we are going forward as a group or are we dead in the water as seems to be the case :(
will find out later and let you know - had thought it was the following week and written that off as I am working
Can't make the 16th as its too close to Paddy's day And have a conformation on that day.
23rd would be alright for me.
Let me know anyway. Whats the normal routine at these meets?
meet up @ 2.30 ish - have a pint at the bar, talk shite, head up to the room sample our beers talk more shite - head back down to the bar talk more..... you get the drift !!
Do you want me to bring in those bottles for you ?
Even if I can't make the meeting - I can always drop them in the day before
Yes please newtobrew and anybody that offered pint glasses as well all donations accepted on the day ;D
Are we going ahead this weekend so or what?
It'll depend on who says yes / no over the next few days., and what suits everyone - we try to schedule the meets so as to make it as easy as possible for everyone to attend. I'm 90% sure that I will be there this Saturday. If we can get the usuals in on it then i'd say we're good to go! Not excluding people who can't make it regularly though! ;-) What say ye lads?
saturday 16th is out for me, looking ok for the following weekend though.
I don't think I can make this Saturday - not with it being Paddys day Sunday - unfortunately I'm out for the following Saturday too - have to work
So.. its up to yourselves what to do - I don't think Wayne can make this Saturday either Or Spud AFAIK ( although could be wrong about that )
@ Deadman - I can drop in the box of bottles for either Saturday for you
Well as it turns out as of last night i can't make it this Saturday either :o ::) New can you hold on to those bottles for a little while and whenever the next meet is going to happen we will sort out collection ok?
yep - that's no bother - they're not in my way - so no rush at all
And there I was Deadman, thinking you were going to be the brewing equivalent of Che Guevara - rile all of us up to Revolution (see what I did there ;-)) and to throw off the shackles of mundane day-to-day oppression, general house up-keep and tedious children's soccer practice! :P
I'll keep the riot on hold then, shall I!? ;D
Yep do that, got an unexpected call and i have to drop everything for Saturday ;) Nice article btw, never knew Revolution stocked 5am and punk ?
Out of interest, what would you like to see happen with the club? I was thinking an actual brew session upstairs in Revolution if it was ok with flash - we could invite along a few interested friends to hopefully get them into it. There's been mention of a few different things over the last few months.
Ah yea, it's understandable - usually we have it scheduled for 3rd Sat of month, but mostly it's what suits most people.
Thanks - sorry for lack of pictures! Yep, Revolution have a nice stock of decent beers - they even have 5AM on tap IIRC!
For me in general i don't think there is enough emphasis on kit and kilo for beginners. Kits to avoid and kits that are good, what to put into a kit and what not. It may only apply to me since i seem to be the only kit and kilo guy down south but still a kit and kilo brew session might be nice? ;D
Since we don't live near the big smoke maybe a how to for all grain gear and where to get it and all the parts for mash tuns etc?
Look i am purely looking at this from a newbies point of view so apologies, thing is some of us can ONLY do kit and kilo but would like to learn more about ag as well ;D
Article ??
Thanks Tube, to be honest I normally log on to the forum section.

Ok, I think that's a great idea. IMO the best way to learn is to do. So we should open up discussions about doing a session of both. I'll start a thread saying as much, and we'll go from there. Never mind about being a newbie (i've only been brewing for about a year), no one's a pro here (well apart from Tim and Grainne :P) every time we meet I think we all learn something new. If we do a brewing session it'll be good craic and we'll have something to show for it over the following number of months.
I think we should organise group events too - tasting sessions, brewery tours, trips all of that stuff. I guess the thing is to try and get the ball rolling - if we can have things that are happening quite regularly it means that almost everyone will be able to make some of the events - rather than it being a once off type of thing and most people not being around for it.

I hope me fiver is in the post ;-)
.. I did run it past Flash last year about doing an AG Demo - it was around the time of the harvest festival and he was really up for it - wanted to open it up to the public for a few quid - give them some craft tasters and what not - but due to other constraints on my end it never really came about ..
..some good ideas here though - brewery tours and what not - We did go down to the Well Last year for one of our meetings - I think it was the Lee Valley dudes that were doing an expo at the time - that was good crack - I was told it was our Brew Club School Tour !!!
.. now off to read the article - like Tucan I'm usually straight into the Forum ... No Kissin !!!!
oh yeah - Is this Saturday going ahead ???

Brilliant, so it sounds like it's already been broached. Sure we can start to get things in motion, try and pin down a few dates here and there - see what suits people. If we try and organise say 6 outings for the rest of the year to specific places too that might be a good way to do it. That way we can get people confirmed for things and then have them sign up - makes it easier to organise then too!
Doesn't look like this Saturday is a runner tbh - i'll add it to the calendar for next week!
I'd love to attend a few of these things, but life has an awful habit of getting in the way - two sons who both play soccer, hurling, football and cricket always put a spanner in my proverbial works! I'd also be governed by train times - I can't drink and drive due to needing two hands for the steering wheel...
Still trying to raise the funds to get into this BIAB thing.
Have we knocked March meet on the head so? April next meet? :'(
Nope, it's in the calendar for this Saturday, 23rd! Who's up for it?
count me in barring any calamities, i won't have any hb coming though, still waiting on my first success :'(
I'll be there.
Awesome, i'm in too - just like yourself, unless something mad happens. I'll have a lager and oatmeal stout! Same as last meet! :P
i gotta work unfortunatley - if i finish early enough - might make the end -doubtful though - i'll have those bottles in on friday for u deadman
What time is this kicking off and anybody travelling up from Dungarvan direction?
Around about 2pm in Revolution bar ;-)
hey Deadman - you headin in on saturday ?- if so I can drop the bottles in for you tomoro if that suits
