Title: Cheapest Hop delivery
Post by: onemanorthree on November 04, 2015, 09:56:45 AM
Guys, what's the fastest way to get hops to Dublin without having to pay 5€ delivery charge from the HBC or similar?

I feel like a small charge would be more appropriate if they can just be sent next day in the post.

Any ideas?

Shane's sent me yeast through the post for a small fee before. Call or email them and ask. I think I had to 'buy' two rubber bungs and leave a note in checkout.

Failing that, there's a couple of homebrew shops in Dublin these days.

Where excatly?  Motley Brew is over the other side of the city from me and has a limited choice of hops, like about 5 diff kinds.

The problem is all the HB shops are designed to work with couriers and not An Post, so if you ask them to post something it means that they have to go around to their local post office as opposed to parcel being collected.
An Post for 110g packet isn't cheap either.
Can you club together as we do in Wicklow with a few others to pool small orders?

It's really just emergency stuff.  Like brewing this weekend and want to try a diff hops etc.
I was just wondering really if there was a service I could avail of for quick small deliveries.
