Title: Revisiting Fransiscan Well Irish Red Ale.
Post by: Greg2013 on November 06, 2015, 12:14:35 AM
Not a bad drop, four pack for 8 euro and the glass was free. Ok i admit it was the glass i really wanted but still a nice sessionable Irish Red Ale.  ;D

It has a sort of dryness on the tail end of the swallow, i would not be surprised to find out there is a little rye malt in there somewhere.  ;D

Always find Rebel Red a bit of a let down myself, prefer the likes of O'Hara's red which has a bit more going on and is a bit beefier.

Incidentally, was chatting to Paudie from Fran Well last night and he said the first batch of Rebel Red from the new Cork brewery should be out quite soon.

O'Hara's Red is very nice also, and i would agree it does have the edge on this one though this is till a nice beer IMO. ;D

Same here with the bigger Spar shops and offies, all doing the 4 for €8 deal but no free glasses.Walsh's Spar are the only ones that seem to do the free glass with beer deals on craft beer.Sounds like i was lucky to find that Stein now(not gloating i swear) >:D
