Title: s30 co2 cylinder purchase and refills
Post by: pedmac1987 on November 10, 2015, 12:56:29 AM
Hi guys,

Looking into getting a tapping system set up early in the new year. I have managed to source everything but a reliable provider of co2 refills. I can get the cylinder sorted at a stretch but would prefer to find someone who did both the initial purchase/rental and refills. Is there anyone in NI at all doing this?

Cheers

I'll be looking to get something sorted myself in the next couple of weeks.   NIFEX (https://plus.google.com/105123937572316853263/about?gl=uk&hl=en) on the Colinglen Road can do it.  Last time I asked sub82 & Barry off the forum, they told me it would be around £60 for the tank + £20 for every fill.  So first time around you're looking at £80 although this might have gone up since I last asked about it.  They also mentioned that they might try and sell you mixed gas so you need to specify CO2.

If anyone else is needing sorted we could maybe try our hand for a group discount?

Pretty much what Ciaran said. Though I paid £90 for the tank 3 years ago. It was, however, filled with CO2 at that price. 6KG, so it'll last you ages. Takes me over a year to empty a tank.

They're supposed to change the tank after 5 years. The price quoted to me 3 years ago was £35 for a replacement tank, filled.

Probably best to give them a call.

Cheers,

North Down Motor Factors in Newtownards also do the 6kg cylinder for £90 filled - refills are about £20/25. Also if you change your mind and take it back at any time in the future you'll get £50 back.

Lads I was looking into sourcing suppliers for beer gas (50:50 or 60:40) and stout (70:30) gas there, some folks I found were

Fintona Tyres in Co. Tyrone are stockists for www.adamsgas.co.uk/ who do rent-free cylinders.

Also airproducts.co.uk who have an address in Belfast.

Cheers for that.

Someone else mentioned that Fintona tyres place. Rent-free is a big plus.

Might suss them out when I'm down home at Christmas.
