Title: Project box / electric enclosure
Post by: nigel_c on November 13, 2015, 09:59:55 PM
Anyone know of any Irish sites that do large project boxes or electrical enclosures?
Looking for something around 15 inch w X h . I know I can get them online but if I can get it a bit more local then China I'd go down that rout.
Upcoming project in the works for the long dark winter.

Have you looked at the plastic boxes from Maplin?

Hi Nigel I was in my local electrical wholesale suppliers (Clonee Wholesaler Electrical) yesterday and asked them about project boxes. They said that this one costs around €35 and they go up in size and cost from there. The next size up was €39 or €40. This should give you a rough guide

Use a "tin"  of quality street or roses, they're plastic now I think, cheap and full of chocolate

I'm looking for a box around 400x400x200
So far what I've found are coming in around €120. Early days so I'll keep looking.
Thanks for the advice so far.

Will be interesting to see your wiring diagram and what's needed. Going to be doing the same myself, but need to get off my ass and plan it all out. Right now, I'm just going with a maze of wires on brewday. Nothing bad could happen right ;)

Brilliant. Looks like we have a winner

It's still early days. Lots of pets ordered and even more research first.

Farnell have some good options too at pretty good prices. Add VAT. Delivery free if over €20.
