Title: Muntons Gold Imperial Stout
Post by: Drzava on November 16, 2015, 09:47:39 AM
Name on this is a bit of a misnomer - there's nothing imperial about this stout, which the box proclaims as 4.5% ABV. Was looking forward to this well reviewed kit as my previous Gozdawa stout was a disaster, and I was delighted with the result of the Old English Bitter kit from the same Muntons Gold range. OG 1.044, FG 1.014 after 2 weeks - so a bit short of the box at just under 4% ABV. Taster after 2 weeks wasn't great - fizzy treacle! However, another two weeks and it's much better with a strong roast taste, and bitter follow up. Bit of a banana aroma still - I reckon this will taste cracking after three months in the bottle (roughly New Year for me).
