Post by: Simon_ on November 23, 2015, 12:49:57 PM
https://www.aldi.ie/en/product-range/christmas/christmas-drinks/beers-ales/products-detail-page/ps/p/la-goudale-abbaye-beer/

€2.99 for 750ml
There's also a 6 pack of 250ml for €5.99 I think

Was going to pick up a 6 pack yesterday but it 11:45 when I was at the till.

"A top-fermented lager..."?!

It's actually a decent enough biere de garde, maybe a bit sweet.
A go-to in the hypermarche when the only other option is Kronenbourg.

Bit too sweet for me for a blonde beer (dont mind my darker beers being sweet, but in pales its a bit cloying). But it is solid.

I got a wee six pack of these the other week and wile nice, the ingredients listed on the bottle put me right off. Lots of stuff that doesn't need to be in a decent Belgian ale.

Bought two of the 750ml bottles yesterday. Even if it's shite I've two nice bottles to add to my Belgian collection.

It's French, not Belgian
