Title: Plate chiller

I am looking to get a plate chiller that wont break the bank.
Any one purchased from aliexpress or know of any bargains?

what is the minimum no of plates recommended?
I am only brewing 23l batches

with plate chillers you need to have some sort of filter before it as they can clog up easy :o. Just saying like :)

Bazooka screen works well for filtering and they are cheap as chips.

I have a 32 or 34 plate chiller and it cools straight into the fermentor at pitch temp.  With less than that you might have to recirculate back to the kettle with a pump for the first pass and then a second pass to the fermentor. I am open to correction on this.

I read an article lately that said the longer the plates are the more efficient they are, so you might get away with 20 odd plates at longer length.  I think standard length is 12 cm
