Title: Dog Biscuits
Post by: Sorcerers Apprentice on November 30, 2015, 09:41:13 PM
I stuck these in the oven tonight, this time at 180C for 30mins and they worked out much better than my last attempt.
Using American measurements, and an Internet recipe
4 cups of spent grain
2 cups of flour
1 cup of peanut butter
2 eggs

= 2 happy dogs

Did they come out chewy or crunchy
30 mins was enough or did you leave them in until oven cooled?

No 30 minutes and they came out crunchy, I left the big bones in for about 40-45 minutes. I cooked them at a lower temperature for longer last time, but they ended up overcooked and the dogs preferred the ones which weren't as well done.
Pheeel they last ages in an old biscuit tin or tubaware type lidded box

Do they dunk well in tea?

Need to make sure they are dry the whole way through. If so they'll last for weeks. My dog loves brew day espicslly darker beers  (also found blending the mix makes better biscuits without sharp edges)

If you dip them in chocolate first and make Chocolate Hob Nobs out of them !!
Shanek you're right. I felt them this morning and they are a bit soft, so they've gone back into the oven for a bit.
