Hi All
Just moved from Australia and just put down first brew in Ireland. I have everything I need for my keg system bar a co2 bottle any ideas where I can source one from I'm in Co limerick or is there anyone wh ok will send them ? Cheers
Hi,
You can get CO2 bottles (filled and refills) in Munster CO2 in Mayfield in Cork.
60 euro to buy a filled bottle, 20 euro per refill afterwards.
I bought 2 to save me the journey when I run out (takes me 45 minutes to get there as I'm on the other side of the city).
Can't believe nobody said G'day Bruce to you yet, probably cos your Irish, whatever nationality, creed, sex etc you are very welcome.
Limerick meet up on 10th if you can make it?
If you've to go as far as Cork you might as well get beer gas from the http://www.irishoxygen.com/ they've a supplier in Bruff as well you could pick up from if you ordered: http://www.irishoxygen.com/approved-suppliers/
I got a price off Irish Oxygen for CO2 a couple of years ago because they're only a few minutes over the road. They will only fill their own cylinders, which can be purchased (full - 6.5kg) for €330 + VAT. Refills are €23 + VAT.
Too expensive compared to Munster CO2.

You can rent them for a lot less than that though, and they've a 50% off cylinder rental offer at the minute http://www.irishoxygen.com/special-offers/20130901-half-price-cylinder-charge.pdf.
Plus you're getting beer gas in whatever proportion you want.

Gee I'm in Hospital 5 miles away will call them thanks
old post i know - as a new comer to ireland you should probably check out the local meaning of the "Gee"
pronounced with a hard G at the beginning instead of the j sound you may have intended :)
So I take it 'Gee Whizz' is out as well, then?
