Howdy!
Does anyone know if W.J. Kavanaghs are taking entries in for The Nationals yet? I need to drop off my entries this weekend as heading off travelling and I will miss the deadline otherwise.
I'd rather not be the first to drop them off and risk them being misplaced or left sitting somewhere warm but I've no other option...as of yet??? ;)

According to that they're taking entries from November. I doubt anyone has dropped in anything yet though. I suppose I'll just have to risk it so. :'(
Whoa, we haven't checked, last year someone asked for it there and we agreed!
This is the first year this is a members comp and the the primary way we want to collect entries is through the reps, the reason being that it encourages local participation.
You guys have a mental whats ap group in capital and most of you drink there every other day, please check in with that and report back to confirm before you drop off.
Cheers
John

A whats app group and I'm not invited :'(
Go to the meets
Mental is an understatement. Main reason are section is one of the quieter ones here.
Edit: confirmed with Kavanaghs they will take in are entries.
Thanks for that Ronan. Good to know they are on board again. I suppose the query now is will they be stored cold? I will drop them in anyway, probably Saturday or Sunday, and ask them if they could leave them in the cellar at least.
Anil had a great suggestion on the Whatsapp group about the drop-off locations. It would be a nice addition to have the storage conditions available listed beside the drop-off points i.e. cold storage for lagers, IPAs etc. Cellar temp for Beligians, sours etc.
If it's a pub they'll probably put their entries in the cold room or cellar. If you're dropping off at another club member's house then they might not have the fridge space for cold storage. Although you could always ask nicely and leave an extra bottle for the trouble. :)
The likelihood is that your beer will probably only spend less than 2 weeks at any one drop off point though so it won't make a huge difference.
Well I dropped in my entries today. The girl at the bar didn't really know anything about The Nationals. Oh well, they're in the hands of the beer gods now!
