Hello Brewers, the last 2 years we have had a barrel cup which was a bit of interclub fun.
We judge at the Nationals and it's a bit of fun.
Club Barrels are not permitted entry to the Nationals main competition and I know the organisers are watching out for them in the entry field as in previous years.
I know some clubs have been churning them out but not sure what the rest of you have been up to, anyway I'm gonna start a list and entry would be 2 X 330's or 1x500
1. GCB American Barley Wine

Would be up for it if we could get some feedback on the beer judged?
Shanna

Last question can we enter more than one?
Shanna
The more the merrier.
Although being limited volume & hard enough to keep from drinking, can't see it being a big category.
The barrel beers in previous years haven't got the attention they deserve so this year we'll have dedicated judges who aren't suffering from palate fatigue and get scoresheets filled out for each beer.

Thankyou for reminder can you bring it on the day or give to Bubbles, he has some T-Shirts belonging to me.
Kev you in Dublin or any of the Galway heads in Dublin?. I'm probably in Galway tomorrow week.
Anything from LB lads? I have an entry from NCB.
After all these collaborative barrels are real "Club Cup" ;)

Will bring them to the next SD meeting on Thursday and give them to Bubbles. Bit of a pity that there is not more interest in this.

Jesus wept, the crazy thing is your actually serious :) No way I will get through mine anytime soon, the Russian imperial Porter we did is nice but I find it a real mind blower so limit it to very small quantities. The barley wine is actually stronger but with much less whiskey spirit cutting through its easier to drink & get up the next day.

Yes but gods extract a price in terms of hangover :). I would expect you won't be judging the barrel entries as you would probably be able to pick it out!!!

I believe frequent sequence is going up to judge, I'll try send them up with him!
We just need 1 500 or 2x330's if you had them to spare?
I've a few bottles spare! I'll let you know if FS can take them!
In all the competition excitement did this happen?
Shanna
It did and we have scoresheets!
