Title: What size stockpot for BIAB 'malt pipe'
Post by: kenmc on January 26, 2016, 10:11:05 AM
Morning,
I'm migrating from 3vessel gas to ArdBir -controlled BIAB electric for space and time reasons, and looking to get a stock pot to use inside the boiler, a converted 33l fermentor. What's the minimum size of stockpot I should get - the max dimensions of the boiler are 33cm diameter, so it'd need to be less than that.
Thanks
Kenmc

you should be able to fit a 21 litre stock pot in that, you will be able to get 6 kg of grain into it.  I have one from bergland I will measure it when I get home, you will need to cut the handles off though.
If you are in Dublin, call into living Island on Talbot street, you can get an 18 litre stock pot there for 15 euro, this will fit nicely..
