As I am sure you know the biggest thing to get right (and IS the biggest part) is the conical body, ideally it should be a one spun out of one piece of stainless.

After much googling and emails (to the uk metal spinners - noone replied) I found this US company that sells the Conicals and various lids and domes to fit.

http://www.toledometalspinning.com/products/product-catalog/seamless-hopper-cone-funnels (http://www.toledometalspinning.com/products/product-catalog/seamless-hopper-cone-funnels)

As you can see the 6 gallon sizes  are "only" $159 or $209 depending on shape. Good discount on 10 tho'

Any one or shop interested in taking this further?

Shipping will of course be a bugger, and they still need legs, fittings etc.

I remember when you were chasing the UK company. Wonder why they did not respond.  :(. Did they have a contact phone number.

Just did a search for these. I found this link: http://www.ebay.ie/itm/SS-Brewing-Tech-The-Brew-Bucket-Conical-Fermenter-Stainless-Fermentor-Beer-Wine-/141888919098?hash=item21093d163a:g:S3IAAOSw2s1Uzpkw

Are these conicals not pointless if there is not a tap at the very bottom? I always thought the advantage of a conical was to harvest yeast and/or remove trub etc. Doesn't seem possible with these.

I thought is was to drain the fermenter without the trub..     Those stainless one are sexy as hell.......

But they're not shiny, maybe I could spray paint them this,

I wouldn't get a ss brewbucket off ebay, they charge an import fee, which you can't claim back if it turns out less, and customs would probably charge, vat, excise and customs duty on top of it, better off buying it from the malt miller if you want them.

The most important point about the bottom fitting for the big boys is that it allows "Clean in Place"!

Not all breweries bottom crop their yeast but they certainly don't have to turn them upside down to clean them like we do!

If it's shiny you want, Rob in the maltmiller carries most of the SS Brewtech stuff. Delivery is around a tenner.
