Hi all,
The February meet, sandwiched nicely between the Belfast and Dublin legs of the Nationals.
There's still a few t-shirts undelivered, so please let me know if you want to me to bring yours.
See further details here (http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.ie/forum/index.php/topic,8012.0.html). Please sign up below if attending.
Cheers,
Bubbles.

Hi all,
I'm new here but would love to join you for the meet this month. I've been meaning to for a while but things have been a bit hectic in our house!
If bringing a brew, how much do people usually bring? I brew in 2 gallon batches split into 1 gallon demijohns that usually have something different about them (e.g. dry hopping or different yeast) so I usually only have a maximum of 8 bottles of any particular beer. I will have to put some aside from one of my brews if I'm to take it with me on the 25th!
Heya, new people are always welcome to meets. Normally in South Dublin, you just bring 1 500ml bottle of your finest and then we chat away about everything and anything :)

Welcome good Doctor!
As molc says, 1 bottle of beer is enough. Always good craic and lots of brewing chat at the SD meets. See you at the end of the month hopefully.

Welcome hope to see you towards the end of the month. Customary to add your name + the beer you intend to bring to the meet if your coming along.
Shanna

There's going to be a table quiz in progress on Thursday night (yeah, I know.. crazy people..), so we won't be in our usual spot.
Can whoever is first to arrive just ask Alan or Adam where they want us seated? They know we're coming and have said they'll squeeze us in somewhere.
Unfortunately I'll have to bow out this month as I'm out of the country. Has anyone gotten started on their SMaSH beers yet?

I'm doing mine this weekend, or that's the plan anyway..

Did mine last weekend. It's a vienna lager. Pitched 400ml of a previous lager yeast cake and took off after about 48 hours.. lagers make me so uneasy when it comes to the lag time.
Will be interesting to see if there's any off flavours as a result...

Out of the 11 candidates in my constituency, 1 has actually personally canvassed my road. And the no-shows actually include a sitting TD who has her constituency office 10 mins walk from my house. >:(

5 gallons is no quantity to bring to a meet, having said that in SCD they will probably love it

Troll?
Shanna
PS: if it's piss ur after I am bringing some cider this evening :)
Nope just disappointed you guys aren't as enthusiastic about your ciders as your meads
Lads,
The weather made me sick as a dog. Have a good fun!
Found a pouch with bud ear phones on the floor at the end of the meet. Left them behind the bar. They were roughly in the area where Ronnie and Declan were sitting

Sound man, was wondering where they had got to. Must have fallen out of my pocket during the meet.

All messing aside, we had four ciders last night including the turbo brett cider (very tart btw). Molc has one with raspberries from his garden that was really nice.
Shanna
Beerfly's turbo cider was pretty acidic alright, but that's turbo cider for you. I didn't get any hint of brett off it, it was drinkable, but putting it away for 6 months would do wonders. Not so turbo, I know..
The raspberry was very nice, big fruit character.
I've made my mind up on sweetened ciders after last night, they're just not for me.

With you on that one. I'm going to sweeten by letting them sit on fruit in future and keep the rest of the cider unsweetened.

Will get some demijohns & split them in to smaller batches with some sweetened & some unsweetened. Will also pay more attention to the amount of sweetener by trying test samples.
