I'll be in Westport Saturday day and night. Any pointers on where to go for good craft beer and food in the town?
Well your close to a few brewery's there with Mecsan only down the road so even if they do not have MAYO beers be sure to embarrass them by asking why not. As for food well I went tothis pub a few years back and the food was so good I book it again as I walked out the door to come back the next night. Presentation and taste was a cracker ;)

Thanks for that. I was there maybe about 16 months ago and had some great fish and chips and a pint of Kinnegar (Scraggy Bay, I think) in a pub there. I'll be damned if I can remember where it was or it's name. :(
Nice bit of Mescan & West Mayo available in most spots
McGinns seem to have a pretty good selection, not sure what their grub is like
Thanks Kev. Will check out McGings
Have a mescan red triple 8% with your dinner. Yom yom :)
McGinns is the best for craft beer. Although most pubs have mescan and west mayo beer. Super value has a good collection. Try not to let yourself be lured to Matt Molloys unless you really love trad music. To be honest food options are only alright.
I meant McGings
Thanks Fal!
No worries. Enjoy!
Thanks for all the tips. I went to McGings and had some Mescan Red Triple and Mescan Blonde. Nice. Also had a couple of Jack the Lad and Irish Blonde (An Amber Ale strangely enough) from the Reel Deel Brewery. I was in Supervalu too. Great selection of beers. Better than any Supervalu I've been in. Rogue Dead Guy Ale and Anchor Steam Sixpacks to name a couple. Must get onto my local Supervalu to see if they can get the same. ;D
Good to hear

Westport changes when the summer tourists arrive and the craft beer options can change too
