Thinking of upgrading my pump
This is pump on the system at the moment

This is the one I was looking at

Is there any way of knowing it I can just screw it on to the brass housing on the Braumeister ?
I see someone in the states has done it

I was onto Speidel and the lad I was onto say they dont sell the 'Ecocirc E4' pump, never heard of it..
Maybe I should just order from Morebeer in the states !
James that is a standard Central heating pump and is unlikely to be food grade.
Partridge, the original pumps speidel supplied have been upgraded, plenty of info on jims about it, check out "breadmaker" thread
What's the issue with your current pump James?
The current pump works ok, but if the slightest grain or far sideways, and it starts rattling.
Then it runs at about 20%
I was onto speidel, they reckon the impeller magnetic fields are broken.
New impeller 25 euro.
But new black pump 100 euro.
So going with new more powerful black pump.
I'll let you know how I get on

Is the black pump the central heating pump you're going for?
I hope not!
CH pumps mate up to 2 LARGE shut off valves that usually connect to 22mm or 3/4" compression copper fittings. (take your pick here as to Imp or Met!).
Just look at your own CH system. There is NO way that will fit neatly into a Braumeister. That pump iirc has 1/2" bsp fittings!
Actaully its speidel supplying with all the correct brass housing etc.
to be honest, all I know is that it is black. I dont actaully know if its the new more powerful one or not, I was hoping it was.
Fingers crossed.
I am going to brew the same beer again, I got 63% efficiency with the bust pump, normally its 71-72
Should be interesting ..
I using 'Best' wheat for the first time, so maybe its related..

Slight issue with the replacement pump, that's never gonna work ... correct ??
The brass housing is an inch shorter than the old one.
Maybe I'm missing something
Same thread yeah? So just screw it on dumping the new "head"
I think the new head has to stay with the pump. He said something about that.
The internal holes are slightly different

You were quite correct mr CH, it did fit, it needed a little guidance from Will but we got there in the end.
Interesting to see what difference it makes now
