Hi folks,
Just putting this out there as a potential date for the next Belfast club meet. Haven't confirmed with Brewbot yet but want to get an idea of numbers before I book them.
Provisional agenda:
- Ceremonial beating of new members
- Brewcon entry tasting
- Other sampling
- The grand t-shirt handout (hopefully)
- How to wear your NHC t-shirt over your NHC shirt and still look fabulous
- Brewcon planning
- Drinking from the Brewbot fountain
- Liverpool 3-1 Man Utd (agg)
- AOB
Cheers,
-Barry

Hi guys,
Apologies, been offline last few days doing Easter shit n' ting.
Got confirmation from Brewbot that Wed 6th is fine with them, so I've suggested an 8pm kickoff.
The only thing they need is rough final numbers so they can reserve space, so any further additions to the above list? Can the above 8 all still make it?
Cheers,
-Barry
Can't seem to copy the list into my reply......but stick me down as well.

Wednesdays work for me so I'll be there! :)
I'll more than likely be driving up since I'm guessing there's no train near brewbot
About a 20 minute walk from Botanic
Any no 7 bus from outside Europa on other side of road. They're regular and take you practically opposite brewbot.
Check translink site for timetable of outgoing 7's for the return journey.
You know it makes sense, Roo. You're good crack when you're half cut :P
-Barry
Lol Bazza.....it's getting the train back....last one is 22:44 from Botanic and if I start drinking I ain't making that. I always hate leaving early too.
Next train after that is 0600... sorted ;)

There's a fine line with me being half cut and good craic to being winged aff me tits and obnoxious. Hope you don't see the latter on Brewcon day....
What time do we start....earlier train maybe?

Official start will be around 8pm, but I'd say any time from 7:30 onwards. Going to try and get down a little earlier than 8, though it depends on traffic/bus/taxi/lift availability :P
Carry-out on the train, Roo. The old 2L Pepsi bottle diluted with a half bottle of duty-free vodkey ;)

I'll not be there until shortly after 9. Also some good news. Club shirts are ready so I'm picking them up today and I'll have them for tomorrow nights meet.

£17.
I accept gold bullion.
How about this?
I'll be down shortly after 9 as well lads, see yous then!
Great craic tonight guys, see you for BrewCon (if not before)
What a turnout!
Great to see everyone last night, with some great beers on show.
What is everyone's opinion on the new venue?
Looking forward to Brewcon! Won't we all look pretty!
Do you guys have a banner?
I liked the set up and to be fair when they are so welcoming its hard not to like it. I thought we won the "Nerd" prize but I think we came a close second to the Dungeons and Dragons lads playing Pokemon beside us. Best turn out I've been at and yes some great beers. I should've taken the empty bottle of Citra home to sniff the hops for a fix.
I'll bring some bottles on the 23rd and you can sniff the whole way down to dublin! Great night lads and lots of lovely beers.
Have to echo all the comments. Great turnout, some excellent beers and a good laugh. I enjoyed it so much I have a sore head today. That's over-excitement for you :-\
Brewbot were excellent hosts; accommodating, helpful and welcoming. I wouldn't hesitate in using them for future meets, if the rest of you were in agreement.
We should shoot for a post-brewcon meet, either late April or early May. From chatting with Steven from Brewbot last night, he was as eager for a repeat performance as the rest of us. Good to see.
@Chris - Stephen T says 'thanks' for the tshirt. If that hasn't persuaded him to part with 10 euro I don't know what will :)
Anyway, great night, and thanks to all who attended. Did anyone take any photos?
Cheers,
-Barry

Yep, we have our Belfast Brewers banner, which we'll be taking with us down to Brewcon. With our banner, our rough accents and the new club tshirts we'll be catnip to the Southern ladies :P
Yes a great night, big turnout and lots of fantastic beers on offer and also agree about brewbot, they looked after us very well. Cheers to Gareth for sorting out the t-shirts.
Liked the idea of group buying from geterbrewed etc to combine shipping. I'm up for that any time anyone in belfast is putting in an order. Maybe if we just post up next time any of us order something or use the whatsapp group to throw it out there?
Touch wood and fingers crossed etc, but I seem to have sorted out my astringency issue.
Looking forward to brewcon.
Sorry I couldn't stay long, was nice to see everyone again.
I'd got back to BrewBot again for it, cracking turn out as well. I'll stick a message on the forum the next time I'm putting an order in with The Homebrew Company.
See you all for the early train to BrewCon!
Shall I stick my American Pale Ale down on the BrewCon Carboy Cup page (http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.ie/forum/index.php/topic,15191.0.html) or does anyone have anything they think might fair better?
I've a few bottles of the citra pale ale there too if anybody thinks that is worth entering. Whatever you think yourselves lads.
Sounds like we need an anonymous vote :)
My secret vote is for the Citra.....it was my favourite.
Have one I'd hoped to be considered but didn't bring it last night. Would it be worth having a meet solely focused on picking a beer for BrewCon? Does everyone have enough stocks?
No worries either way.
OR....we all bring two bottles on the train and decide there and then.

Nothing to do with me, But thats a great idea :D Battle of the beers on the way to the final.
The winner gets sergeant stripes on his new Tshirt ;D

Great idea! Sounds good to me.
Yeah, that sounds good too. I think I've 3 bottles left so i can keep 2 over for brewcon :)
Might want to put a placeholder on the forum post then as "You must tell us beforehand that you're bringing it.".
We can tell them we are bringing one just not what it is. I think if we explain the voting process as part of the epic journey they will understand....nay....encourage it.

I've only one bottle left so it'll be down to Chris and Shaun for the entry :)
I might have one ready by then....fight fight fight
I've 30 bottles of the amber i brought to the meet which are still bottle conditioning. It might get better over the next two weeks but either way the citra pale from shaun would be my choice over it to represent the club without having tasted the rest yet. Very very tasty brew.
At least that's one less beer to sample on the train at 7am on route to brewcon for a lot of lectures. Uni was great craic and all but this time I'm paying the fee myself so want to remember it ;D
Fight, fight, fight!
That reminds me. Need to pick up a few things in Tesco this afternoon:
- 1 pack Saxa salt
- 3 lemons
- 1 bottle Tesco Value Tequila
Must take the kids out foraging for earthworms later.

Tapeworms are just as good?

That's a shame - your Mosaic beer is really tasty. Would you be up for bringing it? Not sure how we could do it but it should definitely be considered.
Any news on a May meeting or June?
Miss you guys........

Miss you guys........
Right back at ya. Early June would be good.....or late May.
Yep, up for it, got a couple of beers ready. Are we still trying to do the first wed/thur of the month, wed 1st June?
Wed 25th or Wed 1st. Which suits best?
Main agenda item:
The October Belfast comp.

FIRST PLEASE
Either suits me! I've nothing ready at the moment but I have to be there to send people home if they're not in uniform.
Must take that polo off eBay then.
