Title: Squeaky CO2 Cylinder
Post by: banjobrew on March 28, 2016, 09:08:00 AM
So I've finally got draft beer at home but as cool as it all looks, it's not that nice to listen to while pouring a pint. I'm not sure if this is the case with all CO2 tanks but mine is whistling and squeaking and groaning from when it's turned on until it levels out. So it's every time I pour myself a pint.

Am I doing something stupid?

No I don't think so.

A lot of regulators make those noises (It's the rubber diaphragm vibrating inside the reg).

Turn off the co2 when pouring and just repressurise every couple of pints? There's plenty of gas in a keg to push the pints, especially as it empties. Easiest would be after your night of drinking, just turn on the co2 for a few seconds and you'll be good to go.

As long as I'm not doing something dangerous then I can live with it. I just poured one there and it seems to have calmed down. Maybe it's because it's all brand new equipment and it needs worn in...
