After sampling the beery delights of Manchester this last weekend, I floated the idea of a Capital Brewers trip to Manchester on our WhatsApp group, so, I'm throwing it up here too.
Indy Man Beer Con is on 6th-9th October 2016 in the Victoria Baths, Manchester. No line up yet. Friday and Saturday sessions are split into Morning and Evening and cost £13 per last year. Pop your name below if you are on for the trip. Giving plenty of notice as, we'd be flying over and staying the night. I suggest either both Saturday sessions or Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon, come back Sunday night. Tickets are not on sale until the start of June.

Chaps,
The flights on Ryanair are down to €33, so, grab them while you can. I don't see the point heading on the 6:30am flight, so, I've booked the next one at 10:35, we can head straight to the 1st session or drop bags at the hotel. Getting the 6pm flight back we can make most of the Sunday session too, or, just hit the bars.
I've booked:
DUB - MAN 8th Oct 16, 10:35 - 11:35
MAN - DUB 9th Oct 16, 18:10 - 19:10
In terms of accommodation, I cant find reasonable, suitable apartments (paying over the odds to share a double or, sleep on a sofa bed.) I could book twin rooms in the Park Inn or Holiday Inn Express, looks about €75 a head for that. When I've better idea of numbers I can do that. Paying a bit more gives you free cancellation until the day before, I dont want to get stung with that bill!! Ciaran mentioned a hostel. Anything I've looked at is bunk beds, cheap as chips, but, bunk beds, whats the views on that? Personally, I'd prefer a proper bed...
Get booking those flights!
Mark
Just booked flights. Looking forward to this!

I just booked this place http://www.booking.com/app_link/hotel/gb/luther-king-house.en.html?aid=349407&checkin=2016-10-08;checkout=2016-10-09;group_adults=4;app_hotel_id=36176&from_sn=android
I've booked a Twin Room in that Martin Luther guesthouse, looks grand.
Anyone who wants to split the room with me, just shout. €76 between us. It's only a mile from the venue which is great, a bit out of the city centre, but, then so is the venue itself. It's on the tramline, so, 25 mins to the Port Street Beer House :)

Ill share with you Mark
Cool...

Heads up, tickets will be on sale next Wed Jun 15th at 9pm https://twitter.com/IndyManBeerCon/status/740558177230594053
Not sure how fast they'll sell out but I think Mark said it will be pretty quick, personally I would try to be in front of a computer for that time. The Saturday session times are:
Saturday 8th October / 11.30am – 4:30pm and 5.30pm – 11.30pm
I think most of us will be flying in at 11:35am, we could either book both sessions and catch the tail end of the first one, or take it easy, go check into accommodation, grab lunch and some real ales before heading to the evening session. What do ye reckon?

Are we not better off doing the evening session on Sat, early on Sunday?
It's a 50/50 call. Might be 1pm before we get there on the sat but we could need to leave around 3 pm on the sun. Tempted to lean towards the 2 on sat myself
Where are people seeing the session times?

2 on the Saturday might be the best, can head somewhere decent on Sunday

Dont forget to grab your tickets from 9pm tonight! I've no idea how they sell or if it sold out last year, but, it's not a massive venue, get them in now!

So whats so special about this event v's say RDS the month before?
Different brewers, beers available. The likes of Cloudwater & co.
Will most likely be at the RDS too, that doesn't require an organized trip when it's a bus trip away. A quick "who's going for Thursday pints?" message will sort that

Fun outing to Newcastle too
I'm over with work a couple of days before so it would be worth my while staying on then?
I see Siren were at the launch, they would be reason enough for me.
Tickets are gone for Saturday but Thurs/fri and Sunday are still there afaik.
Sure let us know if your over when we are, I'm sure there'll be pints going

Yep I put my name on a standby list, just off the phone from my cousin who lives in Manchester and he has a ticket for the Sat Night for me, result, now just to work on the logistics.
Hi Pet now you know I love you.... "What fecking beer related thing is it now"
Nice one!

Can he get Ronan one?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'll ask, I thought you guys all had tickets? as per list above?
Flight and hotel I think that means. Ronan's battery died during the transaction and when he charged it they were gone
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jaysus that's like cheese and no ham, Christmas and no Santa, Easter and no bunny etc etc
So I have been given what they call a 'full fat ticket' (cheeky barstewards) which I think gets me to all sessions and managed to get "1 Golden Willy Wonka" sat evening ticket for Ronan, don't ask

but it will cost me in the long run

Ronan I'll be in touch as better that you have it in your hand in case my work plans change nearer the time.
Fair play John
I sometimes think I must live in a parallel universe.
Jesus! thanks man was not expecting that, or that quick. Phones going to get dragged out the back and shot in the not too distant future
So there is going to be a ufc ppv on that same night in the men arena (ufc 204). Starting at around 11pm and finishing around 4 or 5 am. Ill defo be going to it, anyone else interested?
You'll find me on "curry mile" after kicking out time.
