With tge fastferment fv is there any issue with bottling straight from the base with included tubing? In particular isn't there a fair amount of residual trub/yeast sediment left in the base of the conical even after seperating the collection pot away from the main conical? Do any of u have one ? What do you/don't you like about them???? I'm sitting on the fence about purchasing one. I've also read the thread about ss conical and I'm considering them too but tbh this is just much cheaper, I am mostly concerned with the residual sediment and batch priming it in the conical stirring in gunk from top rim of fv and any other build up... thoughts? Ty
Was going to ask these questions myself! On the fence also.
I have one and love it. It drops all beers clear and I even dry hop with pellets in it. I've don't big beers in it with large dry hop additions and all have dropped clear. I've found that emptying the bulb at the bottom more then once really helps. Flush with co2 and re attach.
I've never bottled from it as I keg just about all my beers now but I can't see any problem with mixing priming sugar in and attaching a bottling wand to the tubing.
They are a bit pricey but I got one just to keep my brewing footprint down. Have far too much stuff as is.

Do you dry hop in a bag or can you cold crash the hops into the bulb on the bottom?
The stand is a rip off in comparison to the price of the actual fv imo. But I guess there's no other option unless I want to put it on the wall... I notice the one on thehomebrewcompany pg has no thermowell which is rubbish imo, maybe it just doesn't show it . Others sell it with the thermo . Worth noting before purchasing.
Hop pellets go straight in. No bag for pellets. I'm sure you could use a bag for leafs and fish it out but I'm quite happy with just using pellets and time to clear my beers.
